Can I take my own passport photo at home?+
For a US passport, yes. The State Department accepts photos taken by anyone, including at home, as long as they meet the requirements: 2×2 inches, head 1 to 1⅜ inches, plain white background, no glasses, neutral expression and taken in the last 6 months. Having a friend take it from about 4 feet away gives better results than a selfie.
What do I get for $2.99?+

Is my photo uploaded to your servers?+
No. Face detection, cropping and background replacement run entirely in your web browser. Your photo never leaves your device; only the payment goes through Stripe.
Will my photo be accepted?+
The tool sizes and positions your photo to the official measurements and checks head size, eye position, lighting and background. Acceptance also depends on things software can't fully judge, such as focus, expression and shadows, so start with a sharp, evenly lit photo. If a government office rejects a photo made with our tool, email us for a refund.
How do I print the photos?+
Download the 4×6 print sheet and order a standard 4×6 inch photo print at any photo lab or pharmacy kiosk. Make sure it prints at 100% / actual size, not 'fit' or 'fill', then cut along the light guide lines.
